My parents love the buah keluak paste. My mum says it is easy to cook and my dad adds that it makes one of the tastiest keluak dishes that he has ever had!
The taste is fantastic — so flavourful! It’s incredibly easy to cook and prep, and you don’t have to be a chef to get a delicious Buah Keluak dish on the table. Highly recommend for anyone who loves authentic Peranakan flavours without the fuss.
The taste is “legit”. It reminded me of a bibik teaching a young nyonya how to cook. The smell in from the kitchen was wonderful.
Loved by both children and adults. I only added extra ingredient of curry leaves, 2 more potatoes and a round of soya sauce. It was wiped clean. A sure fire dish that is so easy to cook.
The buah keluak paste is easy to cook with just adding chicken only. It is almost perfect as if we grind our own paste
I have tried other brands but none can beat Nonyalite’s Buah Keluak paste. It is somewhat more pricey than other brands but you get value for the price. I am buying to give away as gifts.
I love the mee siam paste
Introduved it to my sisters and ftiends
They are so happy with it
I give 👍up for both the wet and dry version. And I used chicken stock today to cook the gravy. It’s so much tastier than plain water.
Easy to use and authentic taste. My family enjoys the meal greatly.
Flavourful paste! Dish came out very well with this all-in-one paste powerpacked with the richness of the individual ingredients. Fuss free cooking suitable for busy individuals.
Overall Flavour is good although the buah keluak taste could be stronger. Easy and convenient toprepare.
Finally I dont have to go through the laborious process of making this dish. Hits the right spots for everyone in the family!
Definitely will re purchase
Home cook and reminisence of childhood Grandma kitchen flavors
Robust and mouth watering
It is a very easy and convenient way to cook pongteh (chicken or pork) with the paste.
I would saute the paste first before adding the chicken or streaky pork.
I also add mushroom (dried Chinese mushroom) and bamboo shoots (I use the canned bamboo shoot).
I'm a Peranakan who grew up in my mother's kitchen cos she said all Peranakan girls must be able to cook. Of course, it a very laborious process to cook buah keluak (chicken or pork rib) from scratch. I have learned to accept that I no longer have the time (or energy) to do this.
The Nonyalite paste is the closest to the real stuff. I add a few stalks of crushed lemon grass for additional flavour.
Tasty, jazz it up with garlic cloves and shiitake mushrooms, and you have a hearty dish for the family!
You may adjust the sweetness by adding more water.
